Misusing the pulpit: 18 booked under amplifier act

ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Saturday arrested four ulema under the amplifier act and registered cases against 18 in different areas of the city, said a police official. ccording to details, the ulema were booked after they violated the act during this Friday’s sermons. Those arrested include Maulana Muhammad Rehan, Maulana Masood, Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khaliq, Maulana Qazi Auzer and Maulana Muhammad Kamran. A police spokesperson said officials are trying to arrest the remaining clerics who violated the ban on misuse of loudspeakers.
