Wack 100 criticizes Tupac Shakur’s legacy in explosive rant

Wack 100 went off on the late rapper, questioning 2Pac’s authenticity and dismissing his legacy's impact.

Music manager and hip-hop commentator Wack 100, also known as Cash Jones, recently sparked controversy with scathing remarks about legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. 

Known for his blunt and often divisive takes on hip-hop figures, Wack has repeatedly shared strong opinions on 2Pac, particularly regarding the late rapper’s legacy and the circumstances surrounding his 1996 murder.

In a recent YouTube clip shared by Geddy Radio Show, Wack criticized Tupac’s persona, calling him a “liar” and labeling everything about him as “flawed.” He went on to suggest that 2Pac’s “gangster” image was inauthentic, especially compared to fellow West Coast rapper Ice Cube, who Wack believes better represents the region’s hip-hop scene. Wack stated, “The only thing ‘Pac did better than Will [Smith] was got killed better in real life,” adding that Will Smith’s influence on hip-hop surpassed Tupac’s.

Wack’s strong stance on Tupac isn’t new. He has previously implicated Keefe D, a former Los Angeles gang member and acquaintance of Wack, in Tupac’s murder, while also alleging that Suge Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, was partly responsible. 

In June 2024, Wack offered to pay 15% of Keefe D’s bail, but the attempt was blocked by Judge Carli Kierny, who suggested that Wack and Davis might seek financial gain from the case. Nevada law prohibits convicted killers from profiting from their crimes.

Despite Wack’s inflammatory remarks, fans online have largely disagreed, standing by Tupac’s enduring legacy. However, Wack remains steadfast in his criticism, with no indication that his view of Tupac will soften anytime soon.
