GWADAR:
A cracker explosion occurred on Fisher Harbour Road in Gwadar on Saturday night.  However, no loss of life and property was reported in the explosion, a police officer at Gwadar Police Station told Express Tribune.

People heard a loud explosion on Fish Road near a service station. “It was a cracker blast in an open abandoned area,” police official said via phone.  The security forces’ check post is also located in the area. However, check post is bit far from the crime scene. The possible target of the explosion could not be known. Police reached the crime scene and threw a cordon. Police are investigating the incident

Earlier this month, at least three Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were killed and four other personnel were wounded on Friday after their convoy was ambushed by armed militants in Gwadar.

The convoy was attacked by militants, who were armed with rocket propelled grenades and automatic weapons, when it was on its way to Suntsar from the Zahiran check-post. A vehicle of the FC was destroyed in the attack.

The attackers managed to escape from the scene after carrying out the attack. And more troops reached the site and transported the dead and injured to a hospital.

There have been no claims of responsibility for the attack, which took place in the B-area where the Balochistan Levies are responsible for maintaining law and order, along with the FC who are also deputed.

Gwadar is one of the worst militancy-hit areas in Balochistan where Baloch militants often target security forces.
