Mysterious attack: Nurse shot, injured at PIMS

Nursing student Zobia received a bullet injury near her heart, adding that she was in critical condition.

ISLAMABAD:
An unidentified man opened fired at a nursing student in front of the nursing hostel at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) late Friday evening. Talking to The Express Tribune, Pims spokesperson Dr Ayesha Ishani said nursing student Zobia received a bullet injury near her heart, adding that she was in critical condition and undergoing treatment. Margalla police ASP Amir Khan Niazi said the police were taking help from security cameras installed at the hospital. He added that they were waiting for the victim’s statement and further action would be taken after acquiring it. Niazi said a guard heard the gunshot and rushed to the spot but the culprit had already escaped. “A police mobile van patrols in the area but the hospital has its own security arrangements,” he said.
