A grand operation to evict illegal immigrants, mostly Afghans, is in full swing in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and hundreds of such families voluntarily moved out from various parts of AJK including Mirpur district  till Wednesday, official sources said.



Around 100 families of the illegal immigrants left Mirpur sub division, 197 from Thothal, 140 from Mangla, 155 from Afzalpur, 97 from New City and 128 families  moved till today, DSP Raja Azher Iqbal told APP.


In Dadayal sub division, over 280 illegal immigrants voluntarily moved out, Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Ayub said. “Operation to deport the illegal immigrants  comprising mostly Afghan refugees will continue till evacuation of the unlawful settlers”, the AC said.
