Suspicious behaviour: Watchman arrested after goods stolen

Bhanamari police on Wednesday took the watchman of Bahadur Kalay Government Middle School for Girls into custody after stationery and toys worth thousands of rupees were found missing from the school in the outskirts of the city. Watchman Noor Khan called the police, claiming some mysterious men opened fire at him outside the school’s premises and then fled. When the police arrived at the spot, they found someone had broken into the school and stolen stationery and toys provided by a non-governmental organisation. After consulting the school administration, police suspected the watchman’s involvement and took him into custody for interrogation and shifted him to the police st. An investigation is under way.
