CAA official suspended as two PIA aircraft 'nearly' crash

As per initial details, the two aircraft were a mere 1,000 feet from each other in Karachi airspace

A Civil Aviation Authority official has been suspended after two Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft came at a ‘dangerous’ distance due to negligence.

The two aircraft were in Karachi airport’s airspace when they were a mere 1,000 feet apart from each other, Express News reported.


As per initial details, one aircraft was taking off and the other was landing when they 'nearly' crashed but luckily the incident was avoided.

Blaming the incident on an official’s negligence, DG Civil Aviation Authority has reportedly suspended the official on shift at the time,  Express News reported.
