Eight dead in Kot Addu road crash

KOT ADDU:
At least eight people, among them four schoolchildren, were killed and nearly two dozen injured in a road crash on Tuesday.
According to police, a school van rammed into a Multan-bound passenger bus while overtaking an oil tanker near Kot Addu bypass.
As a result, six people – driver Taimoor Hassan Raza, schoolteacher Alia Hassan and four schoolchildren – were killed on the spot.
Another two dozen people were wounded. They were driven to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kot Addu, and Nishtar Hospital, Multan. Two of the injured died before reaching the hospital, while those with minor wounds were discharged after first aid.
Medics at the Nishter Hospital confirmed that they have received 13 injured people. A state of emergency was declared at the hospital and MS Dr Attique ur Rehman Chishti was also summoned.
