Relief efforts: WFP boosts Thar’s medical facilities

The World Food Programme (WFP) is strengthening medical treatment and other facilities in Thar in collaboration with the Sindh government, said WFP country director Lola Castro, while discussing the Thar relief programme with provincial chief secretary Sajjad Saleem Hotiana. The team highlighted WFP’s efforts in Thar, Ghotki, Sanghar, Mithi, Chachro and Umerkot, saying that there was 70 to 100 per cent coverage in Tharparkar. Castro added that special care was being given to children and pregnant women.
