BANNU: Security forces imposed a curfew in areas along Bannu-Miramshah road ahead of movement of troops in the region Sunday morning. The curfew was imposed at 8am in the morning hours before a military convoy drove through the area, local sources said. Residents were told that the curfew would remain in place for an indefinite time, but it was lifted in the afternoon. Residents complained that the curfew paralysed the routine life in the region as shops remained closed and students couldn’t attend their schools and colleges. Residents also complained that security forces routinely impose curfew in the region to secure the area before movement of troops and supplies to and from North Waziristan Agency where a military operation, Zarb-e-Azb, has been ongoing since mid-June.
