Saba Ladha and her friends started collecting cards for the people of Peshawar in Toronto and Karachi in hopes of helping them deal with the tragedy of December 16, 2014, when militants attacked the Army Public School on Warsak Road and killed more than 130 students. More than 437 cards will be posted today (Tuesday).
She added that they assembled a team in Canada, where Ladha works, to collect and post the cards. Once the cards reached Karachi, Ladha's family and friends helped by posting statuses on Facebook and collecting more cards.

According to Ladha, she was discussing what could be done to help the people with her friend Ali Rahmatullah. "We went through a bunch of ideas and realised that money wasn't the issue and flowers weren't really accepted at funerals in the country. We also thought about care packages but those would be difficult to ship to Pakistan from Canada. In the end we settled on cards."
She added that they assembled a team in Canada, where Ladha works, to collect and post the cards. Once the cards reached Karachi, Ladha's family and friends helped by posting statuses on Facebook and collecting more cards.
