LAHORE: The Finger Print Bureau (FPB) has been shifted from the Central Police Office in Lahore to the Police Training College in Chung. The idea is to modernise the investigation system and ensure timely completion of challans. A statement released on Sunday said that the shift would help the bureau utilise forensic facilities at the training college. The 373 staff officers of the bureau will now work at the Chuhng office. The FPB will now be under the Police College Chung commandant. Police are considering changing the bureau’s name and establishing additional sections to it, including a finger printing, DNA fingerprinting, blood typing, crime scene photography, electronic data collection, physical evidence collection and first responder training.
