Red carpet round-up: Critics’ Choice Movie Awards 2015
While some actors played it safe in straightforward gowns, others took the opportunity to be daring for a change.
The stars were out in full force at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles and while some actors played it safe in straightforward gowns, others took the opportunity to be daring for a change.
While Angelina Jolie went regal in a shining silver gown, Jennifer Aniston competed in a tuxedo at the Hollywood Palladium on Thursday. The winner for us though sizzled in white.
Angelina Jolie
The Unbroken director went high glamour in a floor-grazing silver gown. With a wrapped waist, the metallic satin dress highlighted the stunning star’s curves. The glitzy number also featured a train and billowing sleeves. Matching her outfit, the star worked an iridescent complexion. Channelling old Hollywood glamour, the Maleficent beauty went for bombshell curls to complete her vintage-inspired ensemble.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese took a diverse turn in a magenta-and-black gown by Lanvin, featuring a bandeau-style. Fitted at the top, the skirt included a panel of the vivid magenta satin. The Best Actress nominee for Wild channelled just a touch of Elle Woods in her strapless number and the ruffled train was surely the cherry on top. Setting her mane loose, she styled it in beachy waves. The blonde beauty added extra sparkle with Harry Winston jewels.
Jennifer Aniston
Aniston, 45, stepped out in a daring take on the tuxedo. And it wasn’t black! The Cake nominee ditched her favourite colour in favour of a plunging, scarlet Gucci tux and matching ruby heels by Christian Louboutin. Bringing further attention to her two-button jacket, she sported a layered gold necklace. The Friends alum wore her gold locks down in a straight fashion. Shimmering in sparkling eye shadow, she went for dramatic lashes and added a glossy lip.
Marion Cotillard
The Two Days, One Night nominee had a princess moment in a snow-white sleeveless voluminous, brocaded dress by Dior Haute Couture. Exquisite from every angle, the actor went for minimalist make-up leaving her bold raspberry lip to do all the talking. The brunette decided to tuck her sleekly styled hair behind the ears to fully showcase the striking gown. Sparkling in jewels by Chopard, the French beauty was a definite attention grabber.
