The bench expressed extreme displeasure over the conduct of the officer and issued warrants for his arrest

KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued on Thursday arrest warrants for DSP Arshad Tanoli for defying court’s order in a missing persons case. According to broadcast media, a division bench had directed the relevant SP to arrest and produce DSP Tanoli in court on January 12. The bench took serious notice when the police officer failed to show up. Tanoli was made the investigation officer in the case relating to the disappearance of two passengers from Karachi airport. The family of Haji Ahmed, 80, and his 42-year-old son, Khan Muhammad, had approached the court to seek their whereabouts. They alleged that the two were returning from Saudi Arabia after performing Hajj when the law enforcers took them away. When the investigation officer failed to show up on Thursday, the bench expressed extreme displeasure over the conduct of the officer and issued warrants for his arrest. The relevant SP was directed to procure attendance of his defiant subordinate and produce him in court by January 12.
