Pakistan moved up to fourth place in the ICC Women’s Championship table after defeating Sri Lanka 3-0 in their three-match ODI series, which concluded in Sharjah on Tuesday.
Consequently, Pakistan’s Javeria Khan has moved up two places to a career-high 13th after becoming only the second batter to score a century.
The ICC Women’s Championship is a qualifying tournament for the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup with the top four sides earning automatic qualification for the event to be staged in England, while the bottom four sides will get a final chance of qualifying through the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier in 2017.
The tournament structure ensures that all teams will play against each other in one home or away series that will include three ODIs over a two-and-a-half-year period. Resultantly, each side is guaranteed at least 21 ODIs over the tournament period.
