Army chief expected to meet political and military leadership of UK

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif will leave for a three-day official visit of the United Kingdom on Wednesday, DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asim Bajwa said on Tuesday.
He is expected to hold meetings with political and military leadership of the UK during his trip, Bajwa added.
Earlier on December 17 after a deadly attack on the school in Peshawar, the army chief made a short trip to Kabul to hold key meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and ISAF commander in Kabul.
“…Vital elements of intelligence were shared with concerned authorities, with regard to Peshawar incident,” the ISPR statement had said.
Ghani had assured the COAS that Afghan soil will not be allowed for terrorist activities against Pakistan and any signature found in this regard will be immediately eliminated.
