MQM’s Faraz Alam was booked by the Korangi Industrial Area police for allegedly murdering four people
KARACHI:
A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist who died in police custody on Saturday suffered from cardiac arrest, said a medico-legal officer in a district and sessions court on Monday. The Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre’s officer submitted the preliminary medical report to District East judicial magistrate XV Abdur Razzaq, who reserved it until the inquiry into the cause of death is completed. The post-mortem report of the deceased is expected in court today (Tuesday) while the chemical examination may take a week or more. MQM’s Faraz Alam was booked by the Korangi Industrial Area police for allegedly murdering four people. The police claimed that he had confessed to killing Tariq, Arsalan and two brothers, Abdullah and Waheed, during the years 2012 and 2013. As his seven-day remand was up, the police were taking him to court when he felt pain in the chest. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
