Textile sector: KCA sends reminder on EU policy
no textile product carrying wooden pallets or any wood material should be exported
KARACHI:
The Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) on Monday urged all the members of the textile sector to strictly comply with International Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM-15) in order to avoid imposition of a ban on export of goods from Pakistan to the European Union. The KCA has reminded textile companies and exporters that no textile product carrying wooden pallets or any wood material should be exported to its member states without fumigation with methyl bromide from registered fumigator of the Plant Protection Department. This textile specific warning issued by the Pakistan Ministry of Textile Industry comes after some textile companies have used wood packing material with harmful organism carrying exported textile products to member states of EU.
