Unkempt toilets: Senators want CDA official fired
The committee decided to verify the claim and a senate official was asked to check the cleanliness at the toilets.

A senate panel Monday recommended suspension of a senior official of the capital’s civic agency for concealing facts from legislators regarding cleanliness of the parliament’s toilets.
A meeting of the Senate Sub-Committee on Finance was held on Monday to discuss overall cleanliness and maintenance of the parliament building with specific reference to “general cleanliness of washrooms”.
During the meeting, CDA Parliament House Director Mashooq Ali informed the committee that the overall cleanliness was “satisfactory” and staffers upkeep the toilets on a regular basis.
The committee decided to verify the claim and a senate official was asked to check the cleanliness at the toilets. As expected, the senate official reported otherwise.
“It is shameful and extremely painful that senators are wasting time to inquire why there is no soap, toilet papers, etc for washrooms,” Senator Abbas Khan Afridi said. In response, the committee recommended to chairman CDA the suspension of the parliament house director for lying to the lawmakers.
The committee also discussed the overall maintenance of the parliament and the fund allocation by CDA.

Bahadur informed the committee that the operational budget of parliament house was Rs126 million per annum.
