Transparency check: Irrigation audit to begin in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: The Irrigation Department has decided to conduct an audit of its divisions in Faisalabad. Talking to The Express Tribune, Irrigation XEN Muhammad Aslam said an audit team of the provincial government would conduct audit of the canals in east and west circles of Faisalabad. He said the audit team would check records of revenue workers, water rates abiyana recovery and fines. He said workers of Irrigation Department had been directed to compile records of the Faisalabad zone before the audit team arrived. He said audit team was expected to visit Faisalabad at the end of January. He said a report of the audit would be presented to the Irrigation Department secretary. He said the secretary would then take necessary action.
