Gall bladder removal: Pakistani surgeon makes world record

RAWALPINDI:
The management of the Guinness World Record has certified that consultant surgeon at the Capital Development Authority Hospital, Dr Naeem Taj, achieved a new record after ‘removing gall stones and gall bladder from the youngest person ever’. The youngest person to have his gallstones and gall bladder removed is four-year-old Muhammad Saffiullah who had an operation on September 27, 2014. “The previous record was set by  Danylle Otteni of USA who was five years old at the time she had her gall bladder and gallstones removed in Philadelphia, USA on October 14, 2007,” said a press release issued on Sunday. Taj also had his name registered in the Guinness Book in the past by removing the longest gall bladder through a laparoscopic procedure. He has also operated the oldest woman with gall stones.  “No age is exempted from gall stones and it is better to prevent complications by removing it early on before it causes serious complications which can be life threatening, remarked Taj.
