LAHORE:

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema said on Thursday no car would be allowed to be parked on The Mall, Jail Road and Gulberg’s Main Boulevard.

A letter in this regard had already been sent to Saddar Traffic SP Nida Umer, City Traffic SP Azhar Gujjar and Traffic Headquarters SP Rana Shujat, the CTO said in a statement.

He said all divisional SPs had been directed to remove encroachments from various city roads and submit a report within a week. He asked the officers to take traders on board and remove encroachments with the city government’s help.

“Banning parking on The Mall, Jail Road and Main Boulevard is a good decision. It will help ensure smooth flow of traffic,” said Burhan Murtaza who frequently visits the three roads.
