‘Rana Zahid lied about his inter certificate’
Balochistan University official informs LHC that PML-N MNA Rana Zahid Hussain lied about his intermediate certificate.
LAHORE:
The Balochistan University examinations controller informed the Lahore High Court on Thursday that PML-N MNA Rana Zahid Hussain had lied about his intermediate certificate while registering for BA.
This was stated in a written report submitted in the court with regard to a writ petition filed by Waheed Sabir, a voter from NA-166 Pakpattan, who challenged the academic qualification of the MNA.
The report revealed that the university had sent Hussain’s intermediate certificate to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Karachi, for verification.
The board verified the certificate as being that of the supplementary exams of 2004, not annual exams. But when he filed his BA forms, the respondent had said that the certificate was an annual exams certificate.
The controller said the registration number mentioned by Hussain on the BA admission form was not allotted to him but to one Aurangzaib Magsi.
Therefore, Hussain submitted fake documents for the BA 2006 exams, as he was not eligible to appear in the exams.
The controller said that the university’s exams department had asked the administration to set up a committee to probe the matter and take legal action against Hussain. The court adjourned hearing on the petition until December 7.
