It seems Chief Minister Pervez Khattak is the richest of the provincial assembly’s lawmakers, while his coalition partner Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq still remains among the poorest.
According to asset declarations issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the K-P chief minister has 19 immovable assets inside the country worth over Rs257 million—Rs36 million richer than 2014. His personal car costs Rs1.367 million, while he has cash amounting to Rs2.4 million. The chief minister also has around Rs9.5 million tucked away in the bank.
His wife owns 53 tolas of gold estimated to be worth Rs2.62 million (calculated not at current rate) and furniture worth Rs300,000. The chief minister also received a share worth Rs5.562 million from ancestral properties. However, he surrendered these properties to the widows and daughters of the late Riazullah Khattak and Ikramullah Khattak. The total assets owned by the chief minister and K-P’s first lady amount to Rs273.218 million.
Meanwhile, K-P Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser showed his immovable assets to be worth over Rs39 million. He also has a share in the Quaid-e-Azam group of colleges in K-P worth Rs3.120 million, while his 2007 model Toyota is valued at 850,000. The car is registered in the name of the Quaid-e-Azam group of colleges.
His family has jewellery worth Rs4 million, prize bonds and cash worth over Rs12 million. He has Rs58,000 in cash and Rs258,000 in two bank accounts, while he also transferred assets amounting to Rs3 million to his brother.
JI chief Sirajul Haq has his portion in 12 kanals of agricultural property and a share in a private school in Khal area of Lower Dir district. However, both properties have not been valued.
Siraj does not own a personal vehicle or jewellery and has Rs70,000 cash in hand. There are also Rs709,012 in two bank accounts in Peshawar and Dir. These figures have gone up considerably since the asset report of 2014.
Meanwhile, K-P opposition leader Maulana Lutfur Rehman owns immovable assets worth Rs8.45 million and has a Rs1 million share in a construction company. Rehman has foreign remittances worth Rs4.757 million and two vehicles worth Rs3 million. He also owns 50 tolas in gold ornaments worth Rs3 million as well as furniture and fixtures worth Rs1 million—both received in dowry.
The total worth of K-P’s opposition leader stands at Rs21.360 million.
Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP) chief and Health Minister Shehram Khan Tarakai owns 200 shares, each priced at Rs10, in Food Express (Pvt) Limited.
Tarakai has jewellery worth Rs780,000, around Rs50,000 cash in hand and another Rs159,612 in a bank account. His furniture and other fixtures are worth Rs1.280 million. Khan had also received Rs912,899 in pay as health minister between July 2013 and June 2014.
Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leader Sikandar Hayat Sherpao owns three properties worth Rs7.198 million in the country and three vehicles priced at Rs11.05 million. He has cash and prize bonds worth Rs115.795 million. Assets worth Rs6.536 million are shared by his wife. His total worth is Rs140.581 million.
Revenue minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has land holdings worth Rs81.5 million and 31 horses worth Rs24 million.

While the beloved Showbaz Sharif and his crony brother have two BMWs worth 23 crores and that too bought from the taxpayers money! those two cars alone are worth almost all of Khattak’s assets!!! That's nothing. Compare it to what Indian lawmakers have just as public assets. God knows how much our countries' politicians stashed under the bed.
Btw the car he uses is not that costly. The bank balance is average. The fixed assets are probably undervalued.
IK has made great decisions and selections at imp stages in his life and that is a proof of his great leadership.

He comes from a wealthy background so there is nothing wrong with it. He didnt turn rich over night. Lets see ET put a similar headline for CM PMl-N...but he's not rich, right?
There is a huge ambiguity in all these declarations. All immovable property is represented by the buying price and not the present market price. There is huge difference between both these calculations.

BTW immovable assets might also included industries and when a person has an immovable assets of 257 millions earnings 36 millions in a year is not really a big deal.

Other than the CM, a lot of these politicians are much richer. They just chose not to disclose their assets or cannot do so because of their accumulation in illegal ways.
I just hope I am done with my hisaab kitaab before these politicians in front of Allah. Otherwise the wait will b too damn long.
