On Tuesday, a complainant went to the police saying his 18-year-old daughter was kidnapped by unidentified men from Jhangi Syedan area on January 3. Subsequently, a case under sections 365-B (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel for marriage etc.) and 34 (common intention) was registered against unidentified men.

Though the case has been registered against unidentified men, the complainant has named one of his colleague’s son in the case, said the police.

According to SHO Noon inspector Younus Gujar, both the complainant and the suspected kidnapper’s father work in the Khan Research Laboratories and the matter appears to be of ‘love marriage.’ Gujar said the suspects as well as their families have gone into hiding and the police were trying to locate the suspects.

He added that the police were raiding different places in order to recover the girl and arrest the suspects. On Jan 1, IGP Tahir Alam Khan formally inaugurated the police station at village Noon to ‘ensure effective policing on the city’s entrance points’.
