PESHAWAR:
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Islamia College University (ICU) hosted a workshop for teachers on Wednesday in one effort to bring local universities at par with international standards.

The day-long workshop was a joint effort of the cell and the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Commission. The workshop was designed to explain the role of the QEC in the university.

Members of departmental quality enhancement committees, deans of various faculties, chairpersons and administrative staff of ICU were in attendance.

QEC director at National University of Science and Technology Islamabad Muhammad Ismail addressed the audience, highlighting the role of the cell. Participants of the workshop were trained to contribute towards the improvement of quality of education and research at ICU.

Appreciating the role of QEC in his inaugural speech, ICU Vice Chancellor Ajmal Khan said, “Efforts are afoot to give the cell a legal shape to ensure the presence of QEC representatives on all statuary bodies of ICU.”

Both teachers and non-academic staff of the university are expected to make full use of the workshop, he said.
