Sufi University to start from Jan
Sindh government decides to establish Sufi University at Bhit Shah, will start functioning from January 2011.

The Sindh government decided to establish the Sufi University at Bhit Shah, Matiari district, which will start functioning from January 2011.
Sindh chief secretary Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha chaired a meeting at the Culture Centre on Thursday, where he proposed to start an institute for Sufi studies but the board agreed to open a university instead.
The proposal mentioned that the university will run on a regular academic calendar with additional vacations on holidays such as the urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. There will be permanent and visiting faculty and three major wings: Sufi thought and practice, mystic poetry and literature, South Asian arts.
