For public ease: First one-window service launched
Nisar hopes the centre will help residents in obtaining govt services

The woes of capital’s residents may finally be over as the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration launched the ‘first ever model computerised citizen facilitation centre’ at its complex where several public services would be provided under one roof.
The basic objective of the facilitation centre is to facilitate residents by ensuring effective delivery of public services without any inconvenience, said Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan who inaugurated the service on Wednesday at the ICT complex in Sector G-11/4.
A ceremony was held at the complex, with the interior minister as the chief guest, and was attended by Chief Commissioner Zulfiqar Haider, acting Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Mushtaq, Inspector General of Police Tahir Alam Khan and other officials of the capital administration.
The services to be provided at the citizen facilitation centre include issuance of domicile certificate, issuance of international driving license, no objection certificates for CNG/petrol pumps, issuance of declarations for newspapers/printing press, verification of registered documents, and issuance of arms licenses.
Besides, a website (www.ictadministration.gov.pk) has also been launched which provides detailed information of all sorts of services and citizens can download the relevant applications forms without wasting their time in government offices.
Earlier, all these facilities were provided in different government departments because of which the public faced inconvenience. However, through this system, it is hoped the public will be facilitated at one centre.
During the ceremony, the minister informed the media that he had decided to launch the project when he took charge of the ministry and now the project is functional for public.
The minister appreciated efforts of the incumbent chief commissioner to complete the project in a short span of time. Khan said the facilitation centre would also be established at the city district courts in F-8 Markaz and Capital Development Authority headquarters in order to facilitate the public further.
He also informed the media that the administration and National Database and Registration Authority have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate multi security chip-based vehicle registration cards.
Through the system, all vehicle registration books would be replaced by the chip-based registration cards which would contain all particulars about the vehicle and its owner.
The minister also said the government has stopped collection of toll while entering the city from the public and this was decided in order to facilitate residents.
