Red carpet round-up
Hollywood’s biggest names put the holiday cheer behind them to attend the 26th Annual Palms Springs Film Festival.
While most of us are still recovering from the New Year festivities, Hollywood’s biggest names put the holiday cheer behind them to attend the 26th Annual Palms Springs Film Festival and geared up for the official start of the awards season. Julianne Moore and Sandra Bullock were among those who graced the red carpet and had us at the palm of their hands with their fashion picks.
Sandra Bullock
She is in the running to bag another Oscar for her role as space-faring doctor Ryan Stone in the film Gravity. But it was Bullock’s body that was defying gravity at the event. The 49-year-old star flaunted her curves in a hot pink dress, which was detailed with orange lace sleeve. She strutted on the red carpet in a pair of nude Manolo Blahnik stilettos.
Julianne Moore
Julianne pulled out all the stops when she arrived at the film festival. The Still Alice actor made sure she stood out in the dress from Spanish brand Delpozo’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection. We love the fiery red shade, pleated hem and embellished details, which Julianne played down with nude heels by Saint Laurent. The 80s-style cocktail sleeves and floral detail close to the hem gave the ensemble a retro vibe. The shoulder bearing design and the chiffon fabric were surely a hit.
Laura Dern
Dern added a splash of colour to the red carpet in a sleeveless tangerine Matthew Williamson dress with purple floral appliqués, which accentuated her tall and lean frame. The floor-length dress boasted detailed embellishments over the appliqué pattern that added gleam to the outfit. Teamed with a gold clutch and Cartier earrings, the When the Game Stands Tall stood tall at the event.
Felicity Jones
The Theory of Everything actor donned a lacey floor-kissing Monique Lhuillier column dress. The dress featured a black criss-cross bodice over sheer midnight-blue net detailing. She paired the net and silk number elegantly with a navy box clutch, a Cartier bracelet and a red statement lip. Flattering her features, the actor tucked her copper locks back and donned a neat side-parting.
