Three suspected militants killed in Karachi shoot out: CID

KARACHI:
Three suspected militants were killed in an encounter with police on the Northern Bypass, on the outskirts of Karachi, late on Tuesday night.

The encounter took place between officials of the Crime Investigation Department’s (CID) counter-terrorism unit and alleged militants of a banned outfit.

CID in charge Khurram Waris said that those killed were identified as Gul Pir Khan, Noor Alam and Ameer Mohammad . They claimed that the victims were involved in terrorist activities in various parts of the country from Karachi to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa including sectarian killings, police murders and kidnapping for ransom.


Waris claimed that the suspects were planning attacks on a private school in Karachi without sharing any further information.

CID further claims to have recovered three pistols, two grenades and improvised explosive devices from the possession of the suspects.

Their bodies were shifted to Edhi morgue to search for their families.
