Chief bureaucrat: Babar Yaqoob appointed chief secretary
LAHORE:
The federal government on Tuesday appointed Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad the province’s chief secretary. He is scheduled to assume the office on Wednesday (today).
Muhammad, who was previously the Cabinet Division secretary, is a grade 22 officer from the Pakistan Administrative Service. He had earlier served as Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary, federal communication secretary and Kashmir Affairs secretary, livestock and dairy development secretary and DCO in Gujranwala, Kasur and Toba Tek Singh. Former chief secretary Naveed Akram Cheema had retired on January 2. The government had given additional charge of the office to Additional Chief Secretary Mubashar Raza.
