Around 491 suspects were arrested by police from different areas on Tuesday. Around 192 Afghan nationals, 57 illegal tenants, 209 anti-social elements and eight proclaimed offenders were arrested. In addition, 102 pistols, 13 Kalashnikovs, 18,321 rounds of ammo, 41kgs of hashish and three kilogrammes of heroin were also recovered.



Meanwhile, Capital City police has imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers except for Azan and Friday sermons. SP Dr Mustafa Tanveer said a ban has also been imposed on playing loud music at wedding halls across the provincial capital.


Separetely, over 25 suspects were reportedly arrested from the jurisdiction of Sarband police during a search operation on Tuesday. Police sources said the crackdown was launched in areas adjacent to the provincial capital and the detainees include over 20 Afghan nationals. Sarband police, however, denied the arrests and news of the operation.
