Locals said 70% of the residents of Shangla district work in various coal mines across the country
SHANGLA:
The bodies of three miners killed in a gas explosion in a coal mine in Hangu district reached their respective villages on Tuesday.
According to police officials in Shangla, Ajmal Khan, a resident of Karora, and Ismail, a resident of Damorai, along with another person whose name could not yet be ascertained, were working in a coal mine in Hangu district on Monday when there was an explosion due to excessive accumulation of gas.
Bodies of the deceased have reached their respective villages for the last rites.
Locals said 70% of the residents of Shangla district work in various coal mines across the country and hundreds of them have lost their lives in such explosions.
