Fierce battle: Two militants killed in clash with rivals

At least two people were killed and several others were injured in armed clashes early Tuesday between two militant groups in Tirah Valley, Khyber Agency.



Tribal sources said clashes were between members of the banned Lashkar-e-Islam and Tauheedul Islam. Both sides were armed with heavy and modern weapons.


Two militants from Tauheedul Islam, identified as Gul Sher, son of Ajab Badshah, and Malik, were killed. Several others were injured; the exact numbers could not be confirmed.


The armed forces are engaged in Operation Khyber-1 in most of Tirah Valley. Officials claimed the operation has proven to be fruitful as over 300 militants were forced to surrender while another 200 have been killed.
