QUETTA:

Unidentified gunmen kidnapped five passengers going to Punjab from a bus on Monday in the mountainous north-western Killa Saifullah district of Balochistan, officials said.

The five people, including a doctor and students, were forced off a passenger coach bound for Islamabad from Quetta. The armed men kidnapped them at gunpoint on the Quetta-Zhob Highway and took them to an unknown location.

In the same area, armed men kidnapped four people travelling in a car which was going to Quetta from Zhob district on Sunday night.

It is premature to say who is behind these kidnappings, Killa Saifullah DC Asif Khan said, when asked if these were kidnappings for ransom or a militant group was involved. The five people kidnapped from the coach were residents of Killa Saifullah, Asif Khan told The Express Tribune.
