Stranger danger: Man held for child rape
Factory Area station house officer (SHO) said a case had been registered on the complaint of the victim’s family
FAISALABAD:
Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a man accused of molesting a minor boy near Factory Area police station. Rafaqat Ali told The Express Tribune his nine-year-old nephew Usman* was playing in the street outside his house in Partab Nagar when Azeem abducted him and took him to his house. He said Azeem then attempted to molest the boy, threatening him of dire consequences if he made any noise or told someone. Ali said on hearing Usman’s screams, some neighbours knocked on the door on. He said Azeem left the boy inside the house and escaped from the scene. Factory Area station house officer (SHO) said a case had been registered on the complaint of the victim’s family. He said a team was formed to find and arrest Azeem while Usman was sent to a hospital so that further action could be taken once the medico-legal examination was conducted. He said Azeem was arrested in a raid at a friend’s house where he had been hiding. He said he had been taken into custody and a formal case would be registered once the medico-legal report was out.
