Whisked away: Teenage girl kidnapped

MANSEHRA: A teenage girl was allegedly kidnapped three days ahead of her marriage in a remote village of Bafa, police said on Saturday. Police quoted Hameeda Bibi, wife of Furqan of Para Ziarat village, saying her daughter Shamim Bibi*, 17, was attending the wedding ceremony of one their relatives in the same locality when she went missing on Friday evening. Hameeda Bibi said the family has searched for her extensively, but to no avail. Quoting some of her relatives, Hameeda Bibi said about seven masked men armed with pistols and AK-47s whisked Shamim Bibi away. Shamim’s marriage was scheduled for Monday, January 5. Since the complainant did not nominate anyone in the FIR, it was registered against unidentified persons.
