Two militants arrested in Karachi
Sindh Rangers spokesperson confirms arrests; weapons seized from arrested militants
KARACHI:
Two militants were arrested on Saturday in Mominabad and Ittehad Town in Karachi, Express News reported, quoting a Rangers spokesperson.
A Rangers Sindh spokesperson confirmed the arrests.
The militants, who are yet to be identified, were arrested following a search operation, and also seized weapons.
Following the heinous attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar -- in which 150 people, including over 130 children, were killed -- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifted the moratorium on death penalties in terror-related cases.
This prompted more search operations and arrests.
Further, after the ban was lifted, at least seven militants have been executed -- including those complicit in the attacks on former president (retd) General Pervez Musharraf.
