NAROWAL:
While the rest of the world was enjoying fireworks on New Year’s Eve, India’s Border Security Forces (BSF) unleashed a barrage of gunfire and mortar shelling on the innocent villagers living in the Shakargarh sector of the Sialkot working boundary.

The BSF soldiers continued unprovoked firing on villages intermittently all through the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

According to senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, the Indian toops again targeted the civilian population in the border villages in Shakargarh sector particularly Bhoray Chak, Sukho Chak, Chekay Chak, Chitar, Sukhmal, Tarapura and Abial Dogar. The Chenab Rangers retaliated effectively and made the Indian guns silent, they said.

Only two days ago, BSF had killed two Rangers officials who had gone for a flag meeting on the invitation of the local BSF commander.
