BARA:
Military officials handed over control of Bara and Shalobar in the Khyber Agency to the political administration on Thursday.

The Khasadar Force and Levies force, under the political administration, will be responsible for the maintenance of peace and security in the area.

“The forces would be performing their duties on all the check posts installed on the main roads,” the administration said.

They added that the schools would also reopen from January 12 after a time span of five years.”

The statement furthered, “in the second phase, efforts would be made for the return of all the IDPs while the Bara Bazaar, along with other markets, would also resume activities.”

On September 1, 2009 the Pakistan Army started the military operation codenamed ‘Bya Daraghlam’ (here I come again) against the militants in the tehsils due to which all the schools, markets and roads were closed down.
