Security measures: Pindi braces for Eid Miladun Nabi

Over 500 traffic officials to be deployed to regulate traffic on city roads.

RAWALPINDI: Preparations are in full swing to celebrate Eid Miladun-Nabi with religious zeal and fervour on Rabiul Awwal 12, falling on January 4.

Stalls set up in different areas of the city are selling banners, badges, stickers and flags inscribed with the slogans paying respect and reverence to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Mosques, homes and other important buildings are being decorated with colourful lights. Various social, cultural, educational institutions and religious organisations are finalizing their programmes for celebrating Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) with religious fervour.

Moreover, rallies and procession are being organised by different organisations to express devotion to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Meanwhile, strict security measures have been taken by the city district government to maintain law and order on the day.

Punjab government has directed to all district and tehsil administration officers to take strict security measures in this regard.

The city traffic police Rawalpindi have chalked out a plan for the Eid Miladun Nabi under which more than 500 traffic officials would be deployed to regulate traffic on city roads.

The city district government would also work to set up a control room for the surveillance of processions and for reviewing security arrangements.

Volunteers of bomb disposal squad, Rescue 1122 and ambulance units would remain standby to meet any emergency while units
of reserve police would also be deployed at sensitive areas.
