Thar relief: Bahria Town sets up free lab in Chachro hospital
Hospital will be able to provide diagnosis for over 30 ailments

Bahria Town Thar Relief Mission is carrying on its operations in the parched and famine hit Tharparkar district. The latest among various relief efforts was the setting up of a clinical laboratory, complete with diagnostic equipment and infrastructure, donated by the Bahria Town.
The hospital, situated 20 kilometres from district headquarters Mithi, will be able to provide diagnosis for over 30 ailments including Hepatitis, free of cost.
According to the Bahria Town management, the pathological laboratory will be further upgraded to provide 70 tests.
The laboratory donated by the real estate giant has brought great relief to the people of Thar. Earlier, the populace of this vast stretch of desert had to go to Hyderabad and even Karachi for simple pathological tests.
Moreover, the Bahria Town administration repaired four ambulances that were rotting in the Chachro Hospital. The ambulances were handed over to the hospital management to alleviate the suffering of the patients in the far flung areas.
The Bahria Town administration continues with its relief effort to provide water bowsers daily to 200 villages between Chachro and the Indian border. The supplies enable people of the sand swept region to store drinking water for 15-20 days.
In addition to chain of water bowser supplies, Bahria Town continues with its efforts of boring, digging of wells, installing motors on existing wells, building water storage tanks and fitting hand pumps. Moreover, thousands of people are enjoying two square meals a day at the free-food points of Bahria Ka Dastarkhwan in Chachro.
