Illegal Construction: Two chambers sealed at courts

Two lawyers’ chambers were sealed on Wednesday by the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Model Town courts vice president Zameer Ahmad Jhedu. The action was taken after one of the lawyers allotted the space earlier was found to be a ‘fake’. In the second chamber, lawyers refused to accommodate more colleagues. Earlier, 80 lawyers were accommodated in the illegally constructed chambers on two lawns. On Tuesday, Jhedu had announced five of the chambers would be demolished. Three of those were demolished on Wednesday. The fracas began after a group of lawyers started constructing chambers for themselves on a lawn at the Model Town courts on Saturday.
