LAHORE:

Chief Secretary Nadeem Akram Cheema urged secretariat officials on Tuesday to devote their energies and abilities for the welfare of the people.

Cheema was addressing a farewell function organised in his honour by the Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees Association (PCSEA) on Tuesday at the Civil Secretariat. Cheema is retiring on January 1.

“The warm welcome has made me emotional. I have no words to thank all of you for arranging this graceful event,” Cheema said. “I urge you to work hard with honesty for welfare of the people,” Cheema said. In his welcome address, PCSEA general secretary Chaudhry Ghulam Ghous paid rich tribute to Cheema.

Rana Nisar Ahmad, the PCSEA president, demanded up-grade of the superintendents’ job from BS-16 to 17.
