Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman addressed a large rally on Liaquat Bagh Road, highlighting the party's ongoing protests as a beacon of hope for Pakistan and its youth. His address underscored JI's commitment to challenging the status quo and advocating for systemic reforms in Pakistan.

Rehman praised the protesters for their resolve in enduring the severe heat to demand their rights, asserting that their determination could compel the government to capitulate. He criticised certain forces and individuals who, according to him, seek to dishearten Pakistan’s youth, emphasising that the current protests are intended to unite the country rather than divide it.

"The enemies of Pakistan will face defeat," he declared, stressing that JI's rally represents every province, reflecting a unified front against what he described as a corrupt elite. He asserted that unification would lead to the downfall of the corrupt class and genuinely liberate the nation from the grip of the wealthy and exploitative.

Rehman criticised the current political landscape, alleging that it is dominated by corrupt leaders and international Independent Power Producers (IPPs) who have imposed financial burdens on ordinary citizens. He called for the immediate closure of fraudulent IPPs, an upgrade to the national grid, and a shift toward renewable energy sources like wind, hydro, and solar power.

The JI leader also condemned the sale of schools in Punjab and the commercialisation of education, pledging to prevent the sale of 13,000 schools and demanding better access to education for children.

Addressing the issue of rising taxes on small items, Rehman urged continued resistance and advancement of the movement until demands are met. He reassured supporters that the party's efforts would persist until systemic changes are achieved.

The JI chief further announced plans to extend the protests to the major cities of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, calling for organised demonstrations in these provincial capitals. He also warned that the ongoing struggle would continue, with additional calls for strikes and demonstrations if necessary.

Rehman emphasised the importance of discipline and confidence in leadership, assuring participants that JI would not be deterred by any obstacles. He acknowledged the strength and unity of the protesters, attributing the party’s current momentum to their collective support.
