Uh-oh: Plane slides off runway

LAHORE: A Karachi-bound airplane slid off the runway after it developed a technical fault on Tuesday. Civil Aviation Authority officials said the front wheel axle of an NL-148 plane was damaged. None of the 172 passengers on the plane or its crew were injured. They were evacuated immediately and the runway was cleared for other flights, they said. Civil Aviation Authority officials told The Express Tribune that the pilot had lost control of the plane after the gearbox developed a fault.
