LAHORE: Lahore High Court sought a report on Monday detailing the implementation of an earlier decision regarding a 50 per cent increase in judicial allowance for court employees. The court issued the order on a petition seeking implementation of the order. Earlier, the Finance Department had assured the court that its staff would get the proposed increase as soon as possible. The court had directed the Finance Department to submit a schedule of payment regarding arrears of the enhanced allowance. Several employees of the LHC had filed a petition against the delay in the provision of the new judicial and ad-hoc allowances. They said that the federal government had announced a 50 per cent increase in judicial and ad-hoc relief allowance for employees of all high courts in the country. They said employees of the Supreme Court and all High Courts except the LHC had been given the allowance.
