Hec Meeting: Quality enhancement reviewed
ISLAMABAD:
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Monday reviewed progress on Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC) of 15 W-category private universities of the country. The participants discussed weaknesses identified in the universities’ academic programmes as well as plans to improve them. The meeting also decided an action plan for assessment for the year 2014-15. On the occasion, HEC Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) also arranged a workshop on “Six Sigma in Higher Education” for the participants. University of Management and Technology QEC Director Mohammad Yousaf Jamil and National University of Computer and Engineering Sciences (FAST) QEC Manager Farrukh Idrees were the resource persons of the workshop. QAA Director General Dr Mohammed Rafiq Baloch presided over the meeting which was also attended by representatives of all the 15 universities.
