Valley zone: OPF asked to speed up development work

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) on Monday directed the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) to speed up development of the foundation’s Valley Zone-V in the capital and other ongoing housing projects so as to hand over possession of plots to the allotees in the shortest possible time. 


The meeting was held at the foundation’s head office and chaired by Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi.

All members of the standing committee, OP&HRD Federal Minister Pir Syed Saddaruddin Shah Rashdi, Federal Secretary Sikandar Ismail, OPF Managing Director Habibur Rehman Khan and senior officers of the ministry, Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and OPF attended the meeting.


The participants reviewed the progress report regarding the foundation’s housing projects especially matters pertaining to Valley Zone-V.

Rehman and representatives of FWO briefed the committee about the development works at zone-V and informed the participants that major portion of the development work had been completed.

The meeting was also apprised that effective measures had been taken to expedite development work and ensure timely completion of the project.

The participants expressed their reservations over delay in completion of development work and directed the authorities concerned to take all measures for early completion of the project.

Earlier, participants of the meeting prayed for the victims of the Peshawar school massacre.
