Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has announced Rs100, 000 in compensation for the families affected and displaced by the Timber Market fire. “I will not leave them alone in their hour of need,” he said. “We will make efforts to compensate each and every family affected by the fire.” This was decided at a meeting held at CM House on Monday.
Qaim Ali Shah directed the finance minister to release funds to the Karachi commissioner to hand over Rs100,000 to each family affected by the fire for their day-to-day expenditures. The funds will be released to people whose names are on the verified list issued by the DC South.
The chief minister also directed the commissioner to finalise the inquiry and ascertain the reason behind the fire.
